Glimmer Shrimp Pink Salmon Fly Tying Video and Recipe

This is a variation of a fly that comes from the Sea Trout fisheries of Denmark that loosely translates to the “Glimmer Shrimp.”  I like to use this pattern for Pink Salmon off the beach here in BC and find that it is a very effective pattern.  If you are fishing this in a spot that has good water visibility you can tied it in a smaller size like an 8 or even a 10, if the water conditions call for it.  If you are fishing siltier water around Howe Sound for example or encounter an algae bloom, a larger pattern like a size 6 will be more visible to the fish.  I like to fish these on either a full floating line with a 10’ intermediate poly leader, or an intermediate sinking line with a steady 12-18 inch strip. Give this one a try this Summer and let us know how it works for you!
